Yours for the Taking: Free eDiscovery RFP Template

Not long ago, a Gulfstream team member ran a Google search for “eDiscovery RFP Template” and came up empty. There are many articles and white papers on eDiscovery that come up, but no free, recent RFP template examples out there for law firms or corporate legal departments to download. If you’re a legal professional doing a search for an eDiscovery provider for the first time ever – or for the first time in a while – how do you know where to start?

The lack of search results for “eDiscovery RFP Template” got us thinking. Gulfstream has responded to hundreds of RFP requests from law firms and legal departments. We know what legal professionals consistently include in their RFP requests so they can accurately compare one eDiscovery provider against another. We set out to create our own free and downloadable eDiscovery RFP template, and now are ready to share it with you.

The template is in Word, which we know many legal professionals use every day. It includes an elegant cover image that you can customize with your logo, company name and contact information. The second page explains how to use the template and should be deleted. The interior pages have headers and footers, which should be updated with your information as well. Text that you should replace with your specific information is identified in red italics. Because the template is in Word, you can add questions, delete questions, add sections, delete sections – whatever customization you desire to fit the needs of your firm or department.

We think this free template will get your firm or department moving in the right direction the next time you need to reevaluate your eDiscovery provider. With new providers popping up, consolidation of vendors in the eDiscovery industry, and retirement of some eDiscovery products, the occasion to reevaluate may come up sooner than you might think.

You can download the eDiscovery RFP Template by clicking here and start using it today. The link will take you to a DropBox file. You will need to log in (or create an account if you don’t have one already) to be able to download the template.

If you have questions, comments, or suggestions on the template, we welcome your feedback. Please email with your feedback.
